Types of Memberships:
Family -- $20.00 per year - Husband & wife (includes children) Horses may be registered in either name.
Individual --$10.00 per year Any individual 18 years old or older Single or married
All memberships shall be based on a 12-month period running from January 1st through December 31st of each year. Memberships can be pro-rated with the registration of any horse. Sulphur Springs Horse Registration Policy
Registration Rules for the SulphurSprings Horse Registry Inc.
All horses coming from the Sulphur Springs HMA are eligible for registration with the proper BLM paperwork.
All applications being submitted for registration of horses, which have been adopted from the BLM, must be accompanied by a copy of the Health and Identification records or other BLM documentation identifying the BLM catchment area.
If the foal being registered is out of an unregistered mare but is a BLM freeze branded mare from the Sulphur Springs HMA and the sire is registered, the foal can be registered as long as a copy of the mare's BLM title or other BLM documentation is attached to it.
To register a foal out of a registered mare and by an unregistered stallion, the foal will be registered in the appendix registry unless the stallion is a BLM freeze branded horse from the Sulphur Springs HMA with the proper BLM paperwork or sufficient proof of his lineage is provided.
DNA testing will be required to prove parentage of any horse that does not have sufficient verification of catchment area or lineage. Foals conceived in the wild that are not BLM freeze branded must be registered before six months of age. If the mare is not registered, a copy of her title must be submitted with the registration form for the foal.
Hardship cases will be considered for SHR members in good standing for any ineligible horse.
PHOTOGRAPHS:
APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION OF HORSES MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY FOUR COLOR PHOTOS. PHOTOS SUBMITTED MUST BE:
1- FRONT VIEW, 1- REAR VIEW, 1- LEFT SIDE VIEW AND 1- RIGHT SIDE VIEW.
THE HORSE OWNER’S NAME AND THE HORSE'S NAME MUST BE WRITTEN ON THE BACK OF ALL PHOTOS.
IF THE HORSE’S OWNER IS NOT THE PHOTOGRAPHER, AND THE PHOTOGRAPHER OWNS THE COPYRIGHT FOR THE PHOTO, THE HORSE’S OWNER MUST SUBMIT A CONTRACT OR STATEMENT FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER INDICATING THE HORSE’S OWNER HAS BEEN PERMITTED THE USE OF THE PHOTO.
IF THE OWNER OF THE COPYRIGHT DOES NOT WISH THE PHOTO TO BE USED BY THE SULPHURSPRINGS HORSE REGISTRY FOR PURPOSES OTHER THAN REGISTRATION, PLEASE INDICATE SO ON THE BACK OF THE PHOTO.
